Abstract: The garlic-maize model has a large area in Dangyang city, Hubei proince. Because of relatively stable price of maize （Zea mays L.） compared with other crops in recent years, as well as high input-output ratio and simple management, more and more attention has been paid to it. In this experiment, the yield performance of several maize varieties was investigated under the condition of no fertilization, and 1 or 2 varieties with good performance were found out in order to improve the garlic-maize model. The results showed that Liyu 88 had the best yield performance, and was stable and not limited by location.
