Abstract: In order to explore the applicability of VIC (Variable infiltration capacity) hy drological model in hydrological simulation of seasonal permafrost region, a large-scale VIC hydrological model considering energy balance model was constructed in the basin above Fuxingbao station of Daling river as the study area. The applicability of the VIC model to hydrological simulation in the northeast seasonal permafrost region was evaluated, and a comparative analysis was made on hydrological simulation without considering the energy balance model. The results showed that the efficiency coefficient of the VIC model considering the energy balance model was above 0.63 and the relative error was less than 6.0%. Compared with the hydrological process simulation without considering the energy balance model, taking into account the energy balance model of the VIC model can better depict caused by frozen soil freezing and thawing process of runoff variation characteristics, simulation of the spatial distribution characteristics of soil water content and evaporation was more reasonable.
