Abstract: The development of characteristic towns is a new urbanization development mode under the strategy of rural revitalization. By investigating the current situation of the development of characteristic towns in Hubei province, taking three representative characteristic towns as examples, the problems existing in the construction of characteristic towns in Hubei province were analyzed, such as lack of industrial characteristics, imperfect infrastructure, low visibility, and lack of resources. In view of the existing problems, four innovative paths to promote the development of characteristic towns in Hubei province were put forward, including positioning characteristic industries, increasing the construction of public infrastructure, building intelligent characteristic towns and integrating various resources.
