Abstract: Three planting patterns organic planting, pollution-free planting and conventional planting were conducted to show their effect on soil pore structure properties in greenhouse and farmland respectively. Soil slices and digital image processing were used for data analysis. The results showed that long-term organic planting changed significantly soil pore distribution and soil total porosity compared with conventional cultivation. The organic planting also improved the distribution ratio of the size pore and obviously increased the number of ventilation of the soil pore proportion of equivalent pore diameter >100 μm. Therefore, organic planting was an effective measure to improve soil pore structure properties.

Key words: planting patterns, soil thin sections, soil porosity, equivalent pore diameter
