Abstract: This article provided a comprehensive overview of recent advances in the pathogenesis of pine wilt disease by scholars at home and abroad. Several physical and chemical traits have been studied as pathogenicity determinants. First, cell wall-degrading enzymes excreted of pine wood nematode(PWN) are used to help nematode migration by degrading the cell wall of host and thereby broken the water transportation; Second, some excreted proteins by PWN could be involved in nematode-plant interactions; Third, phytotoxins secreted by bacteria that are carried by PWN and toxins produced by PWN are proposed to arouse pine wilt; Fourth, surface coat proteins of PWN play important roles in the pathogenicity of it.
