Abstract: The isolate A009 was obtained from Sorghum bicolor seeds imported from America. It was similar to Fusarium thapsinum in morphology. The results of phylogenetic analysis based on double gene(ITS and EF-1α) locuses showed the isolate A009 clustered within the type strain of Fusarium thapsinumGibberella thapsina). The maximum likelihood was 100%. Pathogenicity test showed that it caused leaf spot and wilt on inoculated sorghum seedlings after 4 days. Based on all above results, the isolate A009 was identified as Fusarium thapsinum.
