An observation report on a case of hookworm disease in northeastern Erinaceus europaeus

Abstract: Three cases of disease caused by hookworms infesting the Erinaceus europaeus were reported. Through the anatomical observation of the diseased hedgehog, the infected eggs were found in the lungs, liver, fat connective tissue and intestinal wall of the E. europaeus; A total of 182 hookworms with a body length of 7 to 37 mm were taken from the cardia to the pylorus and the large intestine in the stomach of the E. europaeus.
