Abstract

Abstract: Combined with high quality rice （Oryza sativa L.） in Hubei province,the breeding strategy of high quality and long grain shaped Indica rice was put forward from the aspects of parent selection, selection of progeny materials, combination of conventional breeding methods and modern biotechnology. 83 new germplasms were created with this breeding strategy, 9 materials were grade 2 and 37 materials were grade 3. Further studies on disease restriction, hot tolerance and eating quality need to be strengthened.
