Comprehensive evaluation of agronomic traits of single-harvest Zizania latifolia germplasm under summer high-temperature conditions

Abstract: Taking 19 single-harvest Zizania latifolia germplasms as experimental materials, 15 agronomic traits and quality indices were determined under summer high-temperature cultivation conditions, and comprehensive evaluation was performed using correlation analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), hierarchical cluster analysis and the subordinate function method. The results showed that the agronomic traits of the tested Zizania latifolia germplasms exhibited abundant genetic variation. The coefficient of variation of trimmed shoot weight was the highest at 47.66%, while that of oxalic acid content was the lowest at 1.89%. Trimmed shoot weight was significantly positively correlated with shoot weight with sheath, trimmed shoot length and plant height. Yield-related traits showed strong synergy, while both synergistic and antagonistic relationships existed among quality traits. Three principal components with eigenvalues greater than 1 were extracted via PCA, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 62.86%, which represented yield traits, vegetative organ development and quality traits, respectively. The tested germplasms were classified into 4 clusters through hierarchical cluster analysis combined with the comprehensive evaluation based on the subordinate function method, and three first-class elite germplasms, namely JS-3, JS-2 and Jinjiaoyouzhu, were finally screened out.
