Abstract: Six kinds of plant essential oils including Malania oleifera Chun oil, Eupatorium adenophorum oil, Artemisia annua oil, Ricinus communis seed oil, Croton tiglium oil and Eucalyptus robusta oil were used to treat Tribolium castaneum Herbst, which were determined fumigation and contact activity by triangular bottle closed fumigation method and microdrop method. The results showed that the M. oleifera Chun oil and E. robusta oil had strong insecticidal activity against T. castaneum adults, the corrected mortality rate of fumigation and contact more than 94% for 24 hours. The corrected mortality rate of contact was 94.19% and corrected mortality rate of fumigation was 83.33% under 100 μL/L, when used A. annua oil treatment for 48 hours. Although C. tiglium oil, E. adenophorum oil and R. communis seed oil had a certain insecticidal and fumigation activity. But the insecticidal activity was significantly stronger than the role of fumigation.
