Effects of Biological Fertilizer and Soil Conditioner on Growth,Fruit Setting and Disease of Plastic-Protected Spring Tomato

Abstract: The effects of bio-bacterial fertilizer, soil amendment and their combination on growth, fruit setting and disease of plastic-protected spring tomato were discussed using a method of field experiment. The results showed that three treatments (bio-bacterial fertilizer, soil amendment and their combination) had positive effects on tomato growth, improved tomato fruit rate and reduced the rate of deformed fruit, especially the "amendment +968 + bio-bacterial fertilizer" treatment significantly increased the third, fourth panicles setting rate and decreased the fruit deformity rate of second, third, fourth panicles. All treatments had no significant effect on the disease incidence rate, decreased the disease index and improved the control effect of tomato late blight and leaf mildew. Especially, the "amendment +968+bio-bacterial fertilizer" treatment made the disease index decreased significantly, the control effect reached 28.84% and 29.95%,respectively. To sum up, bio-bacterial fertilizer and soil amendment can be applied to the production of plastic-protected spring tomato.
