Research progress on environmental DNA metabarcoding database of fishery biology

Abstract: The use of metabarcoding technology could identify DNA species information in the environment, thereby achieving the classification monitoring of biological communities and rapid assessment of biodiversity. This method was widely used in the field of fisheries biology research. With the help of a large amount of DNA barcode data materials, databases could store and organize them according to certain standards, integrate multiple databases to form a shared platform, and achieve data sharing and exchange. The construction of a DNA metabarcoding database for fishery biological environment could provide basic data and scientific basis for the research and development of fishery biology. This article reviewed the research progress of environmental DNA metabarcoding databases for fish, phytoplankton, and benthic animals, and prospected the application of this method in the field of fisheries biology research.
