Abstract: Under the background of creating the pattern of “great poverty alleviation” and further promoting the implementation of poverty alleviation work, we should give full play to the role of agricultural insurance in poverty alleviation. This study choosed the time series data from 2009 to 2018, and used the time series DEA model to evaluate the efficiency of poverty alleviation in agricultural insurance in China. The results showed that the efficiency of poverty alleviation of agricultural insurance in China was generally good, but it was not effective year by year, and there was a problem of investment redundancy in the premium income of agricultural insurance, that was, the capital allocation was unreasonable. Finally, the paper puts forward some policy suggestions to promote the poverty alleviation of agricultural insurance.
