Abstract: Aiming at the present serious situation of soil Cd pollution in Wangcun town and around areas, Xinxiang city of Henan province, 7 native plants with good growth potential were selected and their cadmium enrichment characteristics and remediation effects were compared. The results showed that herbaceous plants had a stronger tolerance to Cd in contaminated soil than shrubs or trees on the whole. However Lagerstroemia indica L. presented a notable enrichment ability and transfer coefficient; The content of Cd in root of Setaria viridis (L.) Beauv. was 82.5 mg/kg, and the enrichment coefficient of root was 3.149; The content of Cd, transfer coefficient and enrichment coefficient of each part of Amaranthus tricolor L. were superior to other plant species. According to the comprehensive analysis, Amaranthus tricolor L., Setaria viridis (L.) Beauv. and Lagerstroemia indica L. all can be used as Cd high enrichment plants for soil remediation in this area.
