Abstract: The effects of factors such as different foods, humidity, stocking density, inhabitants, sheltering, and parental care on the survival rate of pillworm were studied. The results showed that the rats were fond of cabbage leaves and had a high survival rate. When the humidity was 55%, the survival rate was the highest. The optimum breeding density of the pillworm was different at different stages, 2 182/m2 in primary and young period, and 2 424/m2 in the adult period. The pillworm like white foam board as their habitat shelter; becasue of the child-care behavior, the survival rate of the primary pillworm will be rasied while there are mother pillworms.
