Abstract: In order to excavate the resources and culture of ancient trees in Dalu village, one of the three oldest villages in Guangxi, the field investigation is applied to study the species, numbers, resource structure, distribution characteristics and cultural connotation of ancient trees in Dalu village. The result shows there are 24 ancient trees in total in Dalu village, including 15 Class II and 9 Class III trees, belonging to 3 families, 3 genera and 4 species. And Litchi chinensis has the largest number, which reflects the practicability of fruit tree greening in traditional villages in Guangxi. The existing ancient trees are relatively concentrated in the vicinity of Huoer building, Sanda hall and Banyan pond, reflecting the local geomancy pattern of village buildings with trees as mountains, left and right to protect gables, fronting water and with hills on the back, and seven stars with the moon. The ancient tree culture of Dalu village is rich in connotation. Among them, Cinnamomum camphora has a healthy and auspicious religious culture. Litchi chinensis means "red top as the head". Ficus altissima and Cinnamomum camphora means "pen, ink and articles", which expresses Lao's ancestors good wishes —— posterity will read to be officers.
