Abstract: Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) is the mycotoxin with carcinogenicity and genotoxicity, which is the hydroxylated metabolite of aflatoxin B1(AFB1) found in lactating animals that have consumed feed contaminated with AFB1,which mainly distributed in dairy products. A timely, scientific and objective assessment of the food safety risk caused by the contamination of the AFM1 in the dairy product can provide scientific basis for the establishment of a reasonable and effective risk management policy for the food safety management institution. The latest progress and limitations of AFM1 risk assessment in dairy products by food safety authoritative management research institutions and different scholars at home and abroad in recent years are systematically discussed, and the focus and development trend of future work in this field are analyzed, in order to effectively manage the food safety risk caused by AFM1 and other mycotoxins as the next step of scientific evaluation, and provide some reference to scientifically estimate and control the corresponding risk to ensure the health for consumers.
