Abstract: The effects of Anodonta woodiana, Cristaria plicata, Hyriopsis cumingii on the removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD), total phosphorus (TP), total nitrogen (TN), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and turbidity in eutrophic water were studied. The results indicated that Anodonta woodiana, Cristaria plicata and Hyriopsis cumingii could remove the total suspended substrance (TSS) efficiently, improving the transparency of the water. The removal efficiencies of COD, NH3-N and tuibidity by Cristaria plicata were highest, reaching 36.45%, 89.68% and 56.24%, respectively. The removal efficiency of TN by Anodonta woodiana was highest, reaching 85.52%. The removal efficiency of TP by Hyriopsis cumingii was highest, reaching 38.00%. The wet weights of Anodonta woodiana, Cristaria plicata and Hyriopsis cumingii were weighted at the end of the experiment to find that they all didn’t grow in the experiment period.

Key words: Anodonta woodiana, Cristaria plicata, Hyriopsis cumingii, juvenile, eutrophic water
