An empirical analysis on influencing factors and the measurement of tea export quality in China

Abstract: Based on the data of the United Nations database on HS code 0902 (2009—2017), the similarity, technical complexity and unit price of tea export of 10 major tea exporting countries in the world, including China, Kenya, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Argentina, Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania, were measured. It was proved that the quality of Chinese tea export was high.And an empirical study on the influencing factors of Chinese tea export was maked,the results showed that the income level of tea exporting countries, the per capita income level of importing countries, the strength and geographical location of tea exporting enterprises were positively correlated with the quality of tea export; technical barriers had a positive role in promoting the quality of Chinese tea export; the fierce competition in the world market promoted local enterprises to carry outexport tea quality upgrade. Finally, according to the influencing factors, some suggestions to improve the quality of Chinese tea export from the aspects of technology and market were put forward.
