Abstract: In order to meet the diversification of consumer tastes,the breeding enterprises gradually focus on the identification of the characteristics of Chinese indigenous chicken which could be used for genetic improvement with commercial strains.In this study,a hybrid experiment was designed to explore the body growth weights gain,body size and carcass traits of the progeny of reciprocal cross of the recessive white feather broiler and the jianghan chicken.The results showed that compared to the jianghan chicken,the growth weights gain of offsprings derived from jianghan chicken as father was obvious increased.Besides,the body size and carcass traits of the offsprings were ranged in the Jianghan chicken and recessive white broilers,and the modes of the reciprocal cross could significantly affect the body size and carcass traits of the cocks rather than hens.
