The analysis and fitting of growth curve of Jianghan chicken

Abstract: Jianghan chicken is a good local chicken of Hubei. The study of early growth rules of Jianghan chicken provide an evidence for new lines breeding. Three kinds of nonlinear model (Logistic, Gompertz and Von Bertalanffy) were used to analyze the growth curve of Jianghan chicken from 0 to 20 weeks. The results showed that the growth curves were appropriately fitted with the three models. Compared the three fitted results, the Gompertz model had the best effect on fitting with the growth curves of Jianghan chicken (R2≥0.996), the growth inflexion was 9.170 weeks and 763.070 g for male chicken and 9.355 weeks and 623.185 g for female chicken. It was feasible to analyze and fit the growth curve of the Jianghan chicken using the three models. Through the fitting of the growth curve, we can master the growth and development patterns of Jianghan chicken in time and find the problems in feeding and management.
