Study on status quo and influencing factors of the UEBMI participation by construction industry migrants

Abstract: Based on the data of the China migrants dynamic survey in 2017,the Logit regression model was used to study the status quo and influencing factors of the UEBMI participation by construction industry migrants.The study found that older age,less educated,higher percentage of household registration in agriculture,lower long-term intention to live locally and lower average monthly household income,lower percentage of residence in urban communities,lower percentage of employment in public institutions or state-owned enterprises,and lower percentage of permanent employers were the significant characteristics of construction industry migrants without insurance coverage.Regression results further showed that older,male,low level of education,agriculture census register,short distance migration,inter-provincial migration,had no intention to local long-term residence,low family income,living in rural communities,did not work in the institutions or state-owned enterprises,construction workers,no stable employers town worker medical insurance coverage probability was lower.
