Abstract: MicroRNA (miRNA) is a non-coding small RNA with a length of 20~24 nt. Organisms regulate autologous development and response to environmental stress through regulatory of miRNAs expression level in vivo, which affect the stability and translation of their target genes. MiRNAs play a significant role in rice yield andresponse to environmental stress through different regulatory pathways. The relevant researches on miRNA in rice yield increase and stress responsewas reviewed,in order to provide new research ideas for the exploitation of rice germplasm resources and the improvement of rice varieties.

Key words: microRNA (miRNA), rice yield, environmental tolerance, biotic responses
