The enlightenment of Japanese, South Korean experience on the governance of rural hollowing in China

Abstract: The lag and hollowing of rural development is a common phenomenon in the process of rapid urbanization and industrialization in the world. By combing the policies and measures of rural governance in Japan and the “New Village Movement” in South Korea, this study analyzed the prominent problems of rural hollowing in China. From the experience of rural governance in Japan and South Korea, it got the enlightenment that China should carry out rural hollowing governance from the following aspectsPartition and classification governance, development of rural industry, mobilization of farmers' participation, construction of legislative system and improvement of rural land management system.
