Abstract: Influenza viruses pose a serious threat to human and animal health due to the strong infectivity, wide spread, short incubation period, and high incidence. The current seasonal vaccine can only prevent the infection of influenza viruses of the same subtype, and are unable to provide effective protection for different subtypes of influenza viruses. Therefore, the development of a universal influenza vaccine that can provide broadly protection has become the focus of current influenza vaccine research. This article will briefly introduce the various preparation methods of the current universal influenza vaccine and review the current research progress of the hemagglutinin-based （HA-based） universal vaccine.
