Study on the effect of mulch material on the yield and quality of continuous cropping pattern of potato and cotton

Abstract: Four different mulch material combinations including black plastic film, black plastic film+straw, white plastic film and white plastic film+straw were used in the potato-cotton continuous cropping mode for experimental comparison. By analyzing the effects of four different mulch material combinations on the agronomic traits, commercial traits and yield traits of potato and cotton were analyzed, and the economic, ecological and social benefits of the potato+cotton continuous cropping mode with different mulch material combinations were comprehensively analyzed. The results showed that the combination of black mulch+straw had obvious advantages in improving the growth environment of potato, increasing the yield and quality of potato, improving the physical and chemical indexes of cotton planting soil, improving the fiber quality of cotton and increasing the yield of cotton.
