Abstract: As the basis of food production, cultivated land was the root of human survival and development, and its utilization efficiency has a profound impact on the development and progress of human civilization. This paper taked 16 prefecture-level cities in anhui province as the research area, Using ESDA model to measure the utilization efficiency of cultivated land in various cities, and analyzed the spatial-temporal variation characteristics of the cultivated land utilization efficiency from both global and local perspectives by ESDA model. Finally, the main influencing factors of the cultivated land utilization efficiency in anhui province were discussed from two dimensions of time and space by GTWR model. The results showed that：①the average comprehensive utilization efficiency of cultivated land in 16 cities in anhui province from 2013 to 2017 was greater than 0.9, indicating that the utilization efficiency of cultivated land in anhui province was at a high level and fluctuated with time; ②the H-H cluster of cultivated land utilization efficiency gradually migrated from hefei city to the northwest, and L-L cluster was distributed in the southwest of anhui province, mainly in mountainous and hilly areas; ③per capita GDP, irrigation index, multiple cropping index, agricultural labor per capita cultivated land area and other factors significantly affected the utilization efficiency of cultivated land in anhui province; ④there was a significant difference in the spatial variation of the influencing factors of cultivated land utilization efficiency.
