Abstract: Luhoutian No.1 was used as experimental material to study the effects of the number and node position on the growth and development of muskmelon in solar greenhouses. The results showed that in the single melon treatment, the T2 treatment (the 14th node left a single melon) had the highest soluble solid content, the T5 treatment (the 20th node left a single melon) had the highest hardness, T3 treatment (the 16th node left a single melon) had the highest VC content and texture density, and the T2 treatment (the 14th node left a single melon) had the highest yield and commodity melon rate. Among the treatments with double melons, T6 treatment (the 8th and 18th nodes with double melons) had the highest plot yield, commodity melon rate, and net density, while the soluble solid content, hardness and VC content of the double melon treatments were almost the same. Compared with double melon treatment, the yield of single melon treatment decreased, but the commodity melon rate and net density were higher and the quality was better.

Key words: muskmelon, number of muskmelon, node position of muskmelon
