Abstract: In order to explore the influence of salinity-alkalinity stress on Melilotus officinalis and the effect of trace elements to the resistance of M. officinalis, the saline soil improvement experiment and the trace elements spraying experiment were studied. The results showed that M. officinalis was under salinity stress when it grew in pH 8.5~9.5 and occurred a series of plants ecological variation phenomenon like low germination rate, plant small, sluggish growth, flowering shortened, reluctant ripen and few pods, premature aging,et al. It indicated that the suitable soil pH to M. officinalis was 8.0~8.5,and not more than 9.0. M. officinalis lacks of various trace elements under salinity stress which restrained its growth and reproduction. By spraying P-K fertilizer and B fertilizer,M. officinalis grass yield increased by 27.59% and 27.21%,respectively. By spraying Mn fertilizer and Mo fertilizer, seed yield increased by 85.45% and 58.10%,respectively.
