Empirical study on the periodic difference of influencing factors in the cultivation of new professional farmers

Abstract: The important role of new professional farmers cultivation project is becoming increasingly prominent in rural revitalization. Based on the questionnaire survey and interview of the new professional farmers in Shandong province, two multi-classified Logit regressions with different reference levels were used to explore the influencing factors in the cultivation of new professional farmers. The results showed that the main influencing factors of the new professional farmers showed the periodic difference in different development periods. In the initial period, the main influencing factors were the use of new species or the renewal of species, non-agricultural employment experience, agricultural favorable policies or project support;In the middle period,the main influencing factors were the brand awareness, the training of new professional farmers, marketing and management level;In the mature period, the main influencing factors were the farm infrastructure equipment or facilities, marketing and land area. In view of different development periods,relevant suggestions were put forward from the perspective of precise cultivation and classified policies, in order to better cultivate the new professional farmers and help the rural rejuvenation and development.
