Abstract: Taking Luoyang city, Henan Province as the research area, four indicators including water conservation, soil and water conservation, biodiversity, and windbreak and sand fixation were selected to evaluate the importance of ecosystem services. Three indicators of soil erosion, land desertification, and rocky desertification were selected for ecological sensitivity evaluation. Using GIS technology, the spatial distribution of each single factor was firstly analyzed, and then the spatial distribution of ecosystem service importance and ecological sensitivity was obtained by superposition and synthesis. Finally on the basis of regional dominant function combined with the current situation of ecological zoning, the region was divided into 6 areas, including water conservation, soil and water conservation and biodiversity maintenance important area, soil erosion prevention and control area, rocky desertification control area, land desertification control area, urban ecological control area and ecological restoration area. The corresponding ecological protection suggestions were put forward according to the different characteristics of each region.
