Abstract: To explore the effects of bioceramic powder (BP) on the growth and physiological characteristics of Cinnamomum cassia seedlings, a seedling cultivation experiment was carried out with seedling-grown Cinnamomum cassia as materials in substrates supplemented with BP at different concentrations [0(CK), 1%, 5%]. The results showed that treatments with 1% and 5% BP significantly increased seedling height, basal diameter, root development, aboveground biomass and belowground biomass, and increased the contents of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll in leaves. In terms of antioxidant enzyme activities, the 1% BP treatment significantly improved POD activity, whereas the 5% BP treatment significantly enhanced CAT activity. Meanwhile, BP application remarkably increased urease activity in rhizosphere soil. In addition, BP at different concentrations exerted different regulatory effects on soluble sugar and soluble protein contents in seedling leaves, as well as sucrase activity in the rhizosphere soil. Overall, appropriate application of BP could improve the physiological and biochemical characteristics of Cinnamomum cassia seedlings and promote their healthy growth.
