The results showed that the number of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China （NSFC）, the total number of documents issued and the frequency of co-national/regional of China in this field were all high-ranking. But the number of prolific authors, highly cited authors, highly cited literature, highly cooperation institution of China in food safety behavior were all low-ranging. The academic influence and discourse power of China in this field should be improved. The research focuses were the consumer behavior, education of food safety, and best practices. Its knowledge base came from consumer behavior, food safety education, food waste, food traceability system.Food quality, food shortage, food supply chain, food waste, and traceability system were the academic schools in this field. Based on CNKI source journals, EI source journals, Peking University core, CSSCI and CSCD databases, 170 obtained literatures on agricultural green development were sorted, and CiteSpace5.7 R2 software was used to conduct knowledge map analysis. By virtue of the cooperation among authors and among scientific research institutions, the research situation of agricultural green development was expounded, and the hot content in the field of agricultural green development research was elaborated through the methods of keyword co-occurrence analysis, cluster analysis and time zone map analysis. The results showed that from 2002 to 2020, the research on agricultural green development had shown changes in research content from less to more, research topics from narrow to broad, and research content from conceptual to empirical. Driven by the agricultural green development policy, the future research on agricultural green development will be more concrete, and the cooperation among scholars and among institutions will be closer and closer. At the same time, it will also increase the exploration and empirical research on the agricultural green development mechanism and policy impact mechanism.
