Abstract: The Hubei Dabie Mountain is located in the east of Hubei Province. The resources of the Chinese medicinal materials are abundant. The key regions include Qichun County, Luotian County, Yingshan County and Macheng City, radiating to surrounding areas. The Hubei Dabie Mountain is known as “the resource treasury for medicinal plant of Dabie Mountain”. There are 6×10⁴ hm² of planting area, 4×10⁸ kg of yield, total output value of 10 billion RMB, more than 30 kinds of genuine medicinal materials, more than 50 kinds of the traditional Chinese medicinal materials, 16 kinds of Chinese medicinal materials products of the geographical indications, 9 kinds of well-known trademarks and 9 kinds of leading enterprises in the Hubei Dabie Mountain. There are many problems about lack of overall planning and scientific layout, hysteretic breeding, less of driving force and deep processing ability, in the Chinese medicinal material industry development. Countermeasures are suggested.
