Abstract: The CRISPR(clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) platform is an excellent genome editing platform, in which, the novel nuclease Cas13a (CRISPR-associated protein 13a) can edit DNA and RNA. This new platform could fulfill DNA or RNA detection with molar sensitivity and single-base mismatch specificity, and meanwhile be extended to fine detect of viruses(even Close relatives of Zika and Dengue strains) and bacteria, monitor early cancer, with the simple technical manipulation and a wide range of application potentials, which could be another excellent tool of genomic editing. Here the current progress about Cas13a system was overviewed.
