Study on Microwave Extracting and Antitumor Activity of Total Saponins from H.emerocallisfulva

Abstract: Using microwave power, extracted time and solid-liquid ratio as main factors, the L9(33) orthogonal design was used for optimizing the extraction conditions of total saponins from H.emerocallisfulva. The optimum conditions were as:microwave power at 420 W,45 s of extracted time and solid-liquid ratio at 1∶50(g∶mL). Antitumor activity of total saponins from H.emerocallisfulva was studied by the SRB assay,the result shows that total saponins from H.emerocallisfulva demonstrated good antitumor activity on human hepatoma HepG2 cells,and better than the ginsenosides Rb1.
