Breeding and Application of a New Two-line Medium Indica Hybrid Rice Combination E Liangyou 78

Abstract

Abstract: E Liangyou 78（E Nong 1S/R78） is a new two-line hybrid medium indica variety combined by PGMS line E-nong 1S and R78. The variety showed high yield,fine grain quality,comparatively good multiple resistance and suitable maturity in the late-maturing group for middle-season indica rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River of the regional trial. It was registered and released to commercial production by the National Crop Variety Appraisal Committee of China in 2018（Guoshendao 20180101）. The breeding process,characteristics,key technical points of cultivation and seed production of E liangyou 78 were introduced.
