Abstract: Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is one of the major bacterial pathogens that endangers the development of the poultry industry, and has brought serious harm to the development of the poultry industry. In order to study the relationship between pathogenicity and drug resistance of APEC,the distribution of virulence genes, the biofilm formation ability and the distribution of drug resistance genes were discussed from three aspects, which were the distribution of virulence gene, the ability of biofilm formation and the distribution of drug resistance gene. The results provided a theoretical basis for the later study of the pathogenic mechanism and drug resistance mechanism of avian Escherichia coli, and carried out epidemiological investigation and surveillance of avian colibacillosis, and provided theoretical data for the prevention and control of avian Escherichia coli.

Key words: APEC, biofilm, virulence genes, drug resistance genes, pathogenicity
