Abstract: From 2014 to 2015, the research on the yield and nitrogen use efficiency of Xinmai No.9 was carried out in Xinyang City,Henan Province. Three nitrogen fertilizer levels of 0, 150 and 225 kg/hm2 were set, and two sowing methods of broadcast and drill seeding were set. The yield, dry matter accumulation and grain nitrogen content of Xinmai No.9 increased with the increase of nitrogen application. The highest yield were achieved when the nitrogen fertilizer level was 225 kg/hm2 in the two sowing methods. With the increase of nitrogen supply, the nitrogen uptake of the plant above ground and the amount of grain nitrogen accumulation increased, but the nitrogen uptake efficiency, nitrogen utilization efficiency, nitrogen agricultural use efficiency, nitrogen partial factor productivity, and the apparent nitrogen recovery efficiency were all declined, and the nitrogen physiological efficiency increased. Under the current production level of wheat after rice in south Henan province, 225 kg/hm2 of nitrogen application can obtain higher yield and economic benefits under the treatment of strip sowing.
