The characteristics and implications of spatio-temporal coupling between geographic indications agricultural products and agricultural economy development in Guangxi

Abstract

Abstract: Quantitative analysis and GIS spatial analysis methods were used to analyze the spatio-temporal coupling characteristics of the change of quantity and output value of geographic indications agricultural products and the development of agricultural economy of counties in Guangxi from 2005 to 2015. The results showed that, from 2005 to 2015, the quantity of geographic indications agricultural products in Guangxi counties showed a growing trend, with the growth rate increasing first and then decreasing; From the perspective of space, the growth of geographic indications agricultural products was mainly concentrated in the east, south and northwest of Guangxi. From 2005 to 2015, the output value of Guangxi’s geographic indications agricultural products showed a continuous growth trend, with the growth rate gradually decreasing, and the spatial distribution of the growth was basically consistent with the quantitative distribution. In 2005, 2010 and 2015, the county agricultural economy in Guangxi presented a pattern of unbalanced development, the agricultural economy of different gradients gathered and distributed in space. The regions with good agricultural economic development were all in the six basins （plains） and the border areas, while the regions with less development were mainly concentrated in the northwest. The number of counties that geographic indications agricultural products was few, but the agricultural output value was high, and geographic indications agricultural products was few and the agricultural economy laged behind was relatively more. From 2010 to 2015, the geographical indications agricultural products industry in Guangxi was in a stage of rapid development, and the growth rate was much higher than that of agricultural economy, but the growth rate was different among counties. Finally, according to the spatio-temporal coupling characteristics of geographic indications agricultural products and agricultural economic development, some suggestions on developing geographic indications agricultural products to promote the prosperity of rural industry were put forward.
