Abstract: Based on the construction of the comprehensive evaluation index system of urban land use efficiency in Shandong province, the weight of each index was determined by entropy method. The time sequence characteristics of the comprehensive land use efficiency of 17 prefectural-level cities in Shandong province from 2006 to 2016 were studied by using the comprehensive index model, and the spatial difference of the coordination degree of land use efficiency in each city was analyzed by using the coupling coordination model. The results showed that the land use degree of each city was quite different from 2006 to 2016, and the comprehensive land use benefit presented the situation of “high, middle and low” stratification and showed different development trends in time, and the differences were mainly reflected in the indicators related to economy. The coupling coordination degree between the social and economic benefits of land use and the ecological and environmental benefits of each city was very different. Among them, Qingdao city had the highest coordination degree, reaching 0.85, while Heze city had the lowest coordination degree, only 0.42. In terms of space, the coordination degree of eastern coastal cities of Shandong was relatively high, and that of western inland cities was relatively low.

Key words: land use efficiency, coordination degree, temporal and spatial difference, Shandong province
