Abstract: Yinbei irrigation area of Ningxia was choosed as the research object and remote sensing image was taken as the data source.Based on the classification maps of soil salinization types in Yinbei region in 1989,1999,2009 and 2019,the spatial statistical analysis method was used to analyze the evolution characteristics of soil salinization in the study area. The results showed that, from the perspective of time change, the salinized cultivated land in Yinbei region showed an increasing trend from 1989 to2019,with a large increase form 1989 to 2009 and a small increase from 2009 to 2019;From the perspective of spatial evolution, the degree of salinization gradually transits from centralized distribution to fragmented distribution; From the perspective of transfer matrix, the transformation of soil salinization types in Yinbei region from 1989 to 2019 was relatively large for the complexity, the transfer area between non salinized cultivated land and light to moderate salinized cultivated land was large.
