Abstract: As an important manifestation of environmental pressure, carbon emission research on its internal driving factors is of great guiding significance to realize green development. Based on the panel data of provinces and cities of the Yangtze river economic belt from 2008 to 2016, carbon emissions were selected as the dependent variable, and the STIRPAT model was used to conduct an extended analysis to study the driving factors of carbon emissions in the Yangtze river economic belt. The results showed that the level of urbanization, population, energy intensity of the Yangtze river economic belt was significantly influenced carbon emissions, per capita GDP, investment of pollution control, the actual use of foreign capital also had a certain influence. Then the necessary measures of control and reduction the total CO2 of the Yangtze river economic belt were put forward to provide reference for the future development of high quality.
