Abstract: Marketization was the economic driving force to improve agricultural production efficiency, and environmental control was the environmental driving force to improve agricultural production efficiency. The two complement each other and jointly promote the high quality development level of China’s agricultural economy. On the premise of following certain environmental regulations, it would inevitably affect the growth of agricultural economy based on different degrees of market-oriented development stage. Therefore, in order to further explored the relationship among the three, on the premise of measuring the agricultural production efficiency of provinces based on DEA-Malmquist method, this study constructed a dynamic panel GMM model using panel data of 30 provincial regions in China from 2008 to 2018 (excluding Tibet, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to conduct an empirical test on the relationship among the three.

Key words: marketization, environmental regulation, agricultural economic efficiency, systematic GMM model
