The physiological characteristic and molecular regulatory mechanism of grain filling in maize

Abstract: Maize grain filling rate affects the accumulation of dry substances and the grain dehydration process after physical mature. To obtain high yield and high quality corn, the characteristics of corn grain grouting must be elucidated deeply. Maize grain filling process is a complex dynamic physiological metabolic process, which is jointly affected by both genetic effects and environmental factors. Here, the physiological characteristics of the maize grain filling process and the molecular mechanism of maize grain filling rate were summarized, and this review will provide informative theoretical genetic basis for the high-yield maize breeding in the future.
