Thoughts on rice breeding innovation of Hubei province under the new situation

Abstract

Abstract: With the advance of agricultural supply-side structural reform, the rice （Oryza sativa L.） planting industry changed from quantity-oriented growth to quality-oriented growth, and the new efficient planting pattern developed rapidly, which brought new challenges and opportunities to the rice breeding innovation of Hubei province. In order to meet the needs of the development of Hubei rice industry under the new situation, it was necessary to integrate various research personnel resources, strengthen dividing the work and cooperation, and focus on the breeding of hybrid rice suitable for mechanized production, high-quality conventional rice, ratooning rice, japonica two-line hybrid rice with high quality, and water-saving rice, which was, so as to provide variety support for the high-quality development of Hubei rice industry.
