Abstract: Taking 17 prefecture-level cities in Shandong province as the research object, the relevant data from 2007 to 2016 was selected to construct the evaluation index system of urban human settlement environment quality. The entropy method was used to calculate the weight of each city and calculate the urban human settlement environmental quality score.The results showed that the quality of urban human settlements in Shandong province presented a downward trend. The scores of the provincial capital Jinan was higher than other cities, and score of the coastal areas was higher than the inland areas. The main factor determining the urban human settlement environmental quality is economic factors. However, the influence of cultural factors, environmental factors and public service factors on the quality of urban human settlements is increasing.
