Abstract: In order to collect cigar variety resources extensively, the cigar tobacco in Dushan county, Guizhou province was investigated. The results showed that Dushan cigar was mainly distributed in Yaodong group of Xindong village, Mawei town, Dushan county, with a continuous planting area of 9.33 hm². The main cultivated varieties were GX-1 and GX 2 et al, and GX-1 had the largest planting area of 6.67 hm². Dushan cigar was prepared by air curing technology, which had mature fermentation technology and aging preservation technology. The prepared Dushan cigar leaves have thick identity, good toughness, sufficient oil content and cigar aroma characteristics. The main flavor is honey sweet and roasted, with positive sweetness and coffee aroma while the concentration is medium to low. It is suitable for making cigar clothing, cigar cover or entry-level cigar core. In addition, the suggestions on strengthening breeding research and construction of scientific research base for Dushan cigar were put forward.
