Abstract: Through practical investigation, the development of farmer professional cooperatives in China is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Based on the internal advantages, disadvantages and external opportunities and threats of the farmer professional cooperatives, the problems in development of the farmer professional cooperatives in China were thoroughly analyzed by combining the SWOT analysis method. The resoult showed that in order to get a deeper development of the farmer professional cooperatives, it's necessary to give full play to the subjective initiative of farmer professional cooperatives, take the X+X+X cooperative development model, standardize the system construction, and adhere to the management concept of green, environmental protection and sustainable development. Only in these way the advantages can be exerted and the disadvantages can be maked up, and the opportunities of development can be seize and threats can be reduced, so as to realize the sustainable development of the farmer professional cooperatives.
