Abstract: The effects of different doses of super absorbent resin on soil water evaporation, soil water evapotranspiration and emergence rate of summer maize (Zea mays L.) were studied. The results showed that the soil water evapotranspiration content under the treatment of above 0.25% dosages were significantly lower than that of CK and 0.10% dosage. The soil water evaporation from high to low was CK and 0.10% dosage, 0.25 dosage, 0.50% and above dosages. The transpiration content of summer maize showed no significant difference among all the treatments. The emergence rate of treatment of 0.10% and 0.25% dosage were significantly higher than that of other treatments. Considered all the indicators, 0.25% dosage of super absorbent resin was beneficial for improving soil water condition and increasing emergence rate.

Key words: super absorbent resin, summer maize (Zea mays L.), soil water content, emergence rate
